I believe just like host Ryan Cameron noted at the end of this video, that “If you can step, YOU CAN STEP.” Zeta Tau Alpha noted on the www.spritestepoff.com website that they were more than ready for the national final of the Sprite Step-Off Challenge the largest national step competition in history. These girls did NOT lie. Zeta Tau Alpha SHUT THE SHOW DOWN!!! They were committed, ready and unfolded as the underdogs that won to the tune of $100000. Go ZETA TAU ALPHA!!! I sat through over 6 hours of competition, watching 14 performances, and without doubt, these girls deserved to win. And GO SPRITE for producing such an event. I volunteered earlier in the day as part of The Sprite Step-Off Community Challenge in which Sprite provided an opportunity for this step competion/show to coincide with community service. It was a rewarding experience all around to see young people especially care about service and community and later see them represent their schools and frats/sororities with respect and pride. I hope Sprite makes this an annual tradition.
all i can say is wow they won ndd they worked it ndd white is just a color
precision was on point. congrats ladies!!!
@ihatej00poo No, I do not think the AKAs should’ve won first place because they are black, I don’t really even like AKAs, but I liked their show better. I don’t think it was right to have them tie after they had already named ZTA the first place winners. I enjoyed the ZTA show very much and they step better than some black people, and their are plenty of white females in black sororities that step, and some of them go harder than the black females. That is just my personal opinion, like yours.
Come on now black people, we of all people know what it’s like to be discriminated against. It seems like we’re doing the same thing. That doesn’t make it right either way. Both ZTA and AKA did their thing and each had some pros and cons. Imagine if it was the opposite, then how would you feel?
I wish folks would quit trying to hate!!! They rocked the house, and the idiot who said the steps were simple probably couldn’t even hang with this team!!!! As a Delta Soror I’ll boldly say I Love My ZTA!!!! I’ll never be on a freakin bandwagon to not give credit where credit is due!!!! ZTA rocked!!!! Black orgs have to step up our game!!! No time for hate!!!!
@ChannelviewHouston yeah, AKAs shoulda gotten first place. even though AKAs stepping sucked shit. they are black, so they shoulda won
Personally, I think they sucked… they were together though and it showed that they practiced intensively. Props for that. But the steps were so… simple. No difficulty at all. The fact that they were white and were stepping increased the applause tenfold. The crowd was screaming when they were just standing there! HOWEVER, they did do WAY better than the AKAs without a doubt. No contest! The AKAs clearly did not take the show seriously like ZTA did. So they deserved to win.
wow i thought they won jus bc they were white but they wer DEF on POINT! Congrats ZTA
THEY MURDERED IT! I WAS BORED WITH THE AKA’S iTS SAD THAT RACISM PLAYED A PART IN THIS! THOSE WHITE CHICKS COULD DANCE AND MOVE AND THEY WELL DESERVED IT, HANDS DOWN. THERE WAS NO TIE!!!
@boycer12 I’m not going to sit here and act like racism still doesn’t exist against blacks BUT that doesn’t mean all whites are racist. This group did a fantastic job. This group wouldn’t be so great without learning it from US blacks [the creators]. Instead of blacks getting mad, we should be proud. Its just another influence we have on the people. I’m happy for them! It was definitely fun to watch.
They was gettin it!!! Good Shit!!!
@iRONHiDEJERKiN – Yes, it does!!
This got nothing on Texas stepping.
so sick!
@ ChannelviewHouston – you are out of your mind!!! These girls deserved their title!!!!
These ladies were really good, but they didn’t deserve first place. But congratulations though.
Man these girls was doin the DAMN thing!!!!!! They worked real hard to do that stuff. Give them credit where credit is do. It is real pathetic that we cant applaud people when ther represent real hard. It couldn’t have been easy gettin in front of all them people bein the only white group. AND THEY SHOWED OUT!!!!!!!! if it wuz black people in a white competition ya’ll would have been mad if sum white people said they shouldnt have won. GET A CLUE!!!!!!!!!
They move like machines. Now I see why guys commonly refer to Zetas as cold.
In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred…We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline…I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.I have a dream today. Dr. Martin Luther King, Aug 28, 1963
@shajoi7 I have no idea what your response is supposed to be rebutting so we will have to agree to disagree. As far as where you came from…I’m assuming you came from America where opportunities now allow us to have a Harvard educated black president with an Islamic middle name…something that would not have been possible during the lifetime of Dr. Martin Luther King…who I quoted. As far as not turning your back…if you’re always looking behind you you can’t be looking at where you can get.
I’m not positive on what school this is from but all I have to say is that I’m proud of my zetas from all over the states, and you girls are what makes me proud to be a zeta! So go ahead & throw your crown up ladies! Remember, only the best get crowned! <3
Man these women KILLED it! Race has nothing to do with good stepping. I’m black, I love to step, and I have never encountered a routine like this, not even with the black sororities! ZTA do ya’ll thing, I think you taught these black sororities a lesson that needed to be taught, some of them are too arrogant and ya’ll humbled the shit outta them!
Umm, I don’t know what all the controversy was about…these girls SNAPPED!!!!!
these ladies killed it, much love
females step?
