So that is the defect, that the politicians are the heads, the leaders of the society, and they are in disagreement …

@zempke I think it’s interesting to check up the seats of war because if I watch a WW2 war movie(like Band of Brothers or The Pacific) or document film I want to know where they fought that battle and my favorites are the pacific area battles and the operation overlord campaign

Banzaii charges were THE most wasteful use of resources ever devised. Going into the open where you are an easy target is not brave, it’s stupid. Soviet soldiers often did something similar to the Banzaii charge, but they used it to blunt German offensives. Soviets were fatalistic, but NOT suicidal. Difference may seem subtle but on the field of battle it is sometimes tactically correct. Japs lost big time, and deservedly so.
Airplanes were welcome but did little to remove the soldiers from the island. Army 44th Division did the majority of the fighting.. Gen HM Smith relieved Gen Smith the division commander.. as a consequence the army only participated in a lesser way on iwojima..

Wow… That must have really sucked for the Japanese pilots.
The A6M Zero was notorious for its complete lack of armor protecting the pilot. In other words, when you see the .50 cal bullets (in this video) hit the fuselages of the japanese planes, chances are the pilots are killed or heavily wounded by the bullets.

No, it’s not true that our waters around our city are 10x as polluted as Canadian waters around Canadian cities. of course there is pollution, & it will still take years to clean-up. Pollution exists everywhere & in some locales it is worse & in others it is not so bad. Things have & are improving but there will always be problems.
