Just like it actually happens when there is big war. Even nowadays, all the nations, they make a group. Some of them forming were forming one group; another some of them, they formed another group. Exactly the same thing was done. Now Krsna was the charioteer, but when the chariot was brought in front of the two soldiers’ party, Arjuna became little bit disturbed that “I have to fight. On the other side they are my brothers, they are my nephews, they are my gurus, Dronacarya, and they are my grandfather, Bhismadeva. So what kind of fight this is that I have to fight with my friends and relatives and family members?” So he hesitated, that “Krsna, what kind of fight this is? They are not my enemies; they are all family members. So I am not interested in this fight.” So he practically decided not to fight. And Krsna said that “What is this nonsense? You are a military man, and you have come to fight here, and you are My friend and My relative also, and if you decide not to fight, what people will say?” This is the beginning. Then, after some arguments, Arjuna thought it wise that “Actually, I am a military man and I have come to fight a decision that we shall fight. Now what I am trying to do, to avoid this fighting? Actually it is not my business. I am deviating from my duty.” Therefore… (aside

  4. Well shoot down none.

But destroying pilots and aircraft on the production line in cities like Essen and Kiel? thousands perhaps 10′s of thousands.

And another thing, Britain after defending its homeland went on the offensive with its fighter force over the occupied territories, Britain improved the Spitfire with DT’s and larger internal fuel supplies to cross the channel in sweeps known as Circus and Rhubarb. Ever wondered why French targets were considered milk runs? Brit Air Superiority

  5. and a whole lot of US Merchant Marines………hmmm How many aircraft did British Bombers shoot down hiding in the dark..??

  6. MsMemphisFlyer, I dived on a B17 bomber sunk in Papua New Guinea. It was at 48 – 55M depth, and it was pristine, no coral encrustation and I could move the guns in the turrets. There were still bullets in the feed trays. I squeezed inside and was shocked how little space there was, I would not have liked to have been the rear gunner, lying down under the tail plane.

Spent 15 minutes down there and over an hour decompressing at 17M and 5M on 50% O2.

  7. @Plawranc Before the war GB had the most powerful military force in the world. After the US did. Had Dunkirk not gone like it did the US probably would never had to have been involved in France at all. Bad decision really hurt. That said. Were it not for Lend-Lease and the billions (1940′s numbers) in supplies, ships, food, weapons, etc. the US sent to Britain and France and Russia I don’t think you’d have won the Battle of Britain. But hell man. You guys were damned good.

  8. Nice video.

  9. Great Britain was not getting slaughtered as such, losses were high. But Great Britain delivered more hell to the Nazis than the Americans and probably inflicted 3 times more casualties to both industry and the populace (Military and Civillian alike).

So the losses were not in vain, Britain supplemented the bulk of Allied destructive power. Unfortunately most young Americans do not know this and continue to say that the US “saved” Britain.

Britain was saved in Summer 1940 by the RAF & Few.

  25. He meant that prior to this time the English had been bombing Germany but were being slaughtered simply due to lack of numbers. Their attacks were sporadic and nothing sustained. After sufficient forces were gathered from the states, The British bombed at night in Lancasters and Mosquitoes and American made bombers and Americans in daytime in B-17s and B-24s. Often, continuous and around the clock. Thus a real, continuous and effective bombing effort could only then be maintained.
