What rational investor would keep dumping funds into a stock that performs like the Iraq war?

How much sense would it make?

You’d fire any broker that gave the returns on your investment that this blunder in Iraq has.
dez604 (below) The nightmare began when Bush decided it would be a great idea to invade Iraq.

The nightmare will continue until America leaves Iraq. Don’t blame Clinton and Pelosi and everyone who isn’t a Republican for Bush’s bad decisions. Bush allowed Rumsfeld to disban the Iraqi Army. That decision was the nail in the coffin. Invading Iraq in the first place was a bad idea. Disbanding their military made it mission impossible.

Locutus1of1 (below) Yet again comparing Iraq to the 3rd Reich and Japan?

No comparison between Iraq’s ability and Germany/Japan’s capability. Also, America was attacked by Japan and Germany declared war on the US.
Locutus1of1 – “We are not the same people we were then.”

Disagree. America was not willing to enter WW-2 until the attack on Pearl Harbor. WW-2 began years before the US got involved.

  1. about as much sense as you asking the same thing over and over and thinking its productive

  2. Your analogies never cease to amaze me.

I certainly would too, but the powers to be are limited by terms. Relax Chi, it’s coming.

  3. I dunno….have you seen the profit margins for many American oil companies, to say nothing of Halliburton and Bechtel?

Someone is making a killing (figuratively, of course).

  4. Great question.

  5. As a troop that has been out there who has fought his a@@ off, I find your comments very disrespectful, It was hard out there for awhile Chi-guy, not knowing who was friend or foe, lack of support from Harry Reid and the rest of the Liberals support even though they all read the same intel reports and U.N. Weapons inspectors intel reports that Clinton had used to bomb him in 98 and Bush went to war with, lack of troops to get the job done, and are own ROE’S killed us for awhile hence a lot of roadside IED’S, but since you weren’t out there and like to monday morning a war from your couch, you wouldn’t or realize what’s really going on out there.

the terrorists drive us out and win and gain a whole country like they had in Afgan do you think there gonna treat the people of Iraq kindly, or rule with fear, and kill those who oppose them, just like the taliban did in Afgan,

Trust me, it would be a nightmare, it take from someone who has been there, if we just cut and ran right now, it would empower our enemies, bring instability to an already volatile region and Iran and Osama, would have another to use as Training centers, for terrorists, and a safe haven. Then when they go back on the offensive and bring the fight back on U.S. Soil, the left wing nuts will blame Bush for leaving early. Bush is in a no-win-situation

EDIT!!!!!!!!!! Again you really don’t know what your talking about but you got the message from 3rd Party about disbanding the Iraq military, that was necessary at the time due to subversion in the ranks, after you take down an ARMY, you gotta make sure that when you start up another the bad seeds and corruption is weeded out from within, and you say don’t blame Clinton, I Blame him for Osama Reign of terror and lack of responses for those terror attacks and not taking Osama into custody in 98 and 99, but when it comes to Iraq I am stating that Bill Clinton bombed Saddam in 98 in operation desert fox, with the same intel congress and Bush had to go to war plain and simple, Also before the war Bill Clinton also stated he is pretty Darn sure Saddam had WMD’s and he did Mustard gas is a WMD.

  6. Oh please, you cannot compare support for the war in Iraq to investments in the stock market. Your attempt to do so is a sign of desperation.

  7. The same kind as invested in world war two. It was an unwinnable war our casualty rate was higher than any previous. The Japanese were slaughtering our troops in island warfare. We did what was called for we used weapons at our disposal and ended a war that might well have cost us everything had we not.

We are not the same people we were then.

  8. The American Revolution bankrupted the Continental Congress, so I am not sure what point you are trying to make.
