What are some programs which can be used to monitor the stock market?

I’d like to start in the stock market. I have never traded before. I’ve seen programs that allow you to choose a stock to monitor, or which possibly connects to a server to show a stocks data from the past. These are the ones which output a line graph.

Can anyone recommend a good program to try?

Thanks.

  1. Don’t bother with a “program”, you already HAVE Yahoo! (obviously), and can use all the tools on Yahoo!Finance to do what you want to do

…but don’t fall prey to the idea that if you look at a company’s stock-price graph, and the line always goes up, that it will do so in the future.

As a “beginner”, you are better off with funds or tracking stocks, since they are far easier to predict…
