I stopped getting a daily cup of tea in order to invest that $2. The other I collect in bottles. $5/day. No junk food. Only shop at a grocery store for food. He is right. Put the cigrette money in a jar for a a month. See what you can find. $20 in your gas tank goes 2.5x furthere then two $10 “tanks”. Stop thinking for the day and think for the month.
I understand this video is about a family ( I take) that makes about $45.000 a year.
Well honestly if they have kids.
You tell them that they will grow up with shitty clothes and no movies or eating out etc etc.
I’m from Europe and when I came here too Canada I was amazed on how many poor people there are here.
So many kids growing up in WORKING families and they still have to go to food drive’s.
WTF is wrong with North America.
OK I really want to make it clear for those with no brains.
The solution to money problems is not to tell the ALREADY poor to give up everything.
Then why the FUCK is the rich guy with $100 million not giving away 90 mill, he doesn’t need it right?
You proved one can live without anything, just go to work and make more money for the RICH guy.
The solution is higher wages and less fucking money at the top.
Here In Canada a person working minimum wage FULL time is below poverty level by $5000/Y
Here is another economic example.
If you make so little money that you can’t afford TV, DVD eating out, cell phones or anything.
Well you can also save on food.
Eat only noodles and rice for a week and put that money in a bank.
Dress your kids in clothes found on the street.
See my point is, it’s just BS any stupid fucker would KNOW.
It does NOT solve the problem of TOO LITTLE MONETARY FUNDS.
Why should people give UP EVERYTHING that makes life worth living , to work for nothing and then die
You completely attack people that don’t have much money to basically not live their lives.
HOW ABOUT WE EARN MORE MONEY?
Instead of lining the pockets of the already rich that earn $12 mill a year for sitting at a desk.
People need some fucking outlet, and entertainment as in eating out, watching DVD’s and Cable is just that.
Without these things I would go on a killing spree.
If I had a shitload of money I would travel all the time .
Sadly most can’t all we have is said things (DVD, Bars etc).
This is silly.
Sorry pal times change, we now are starting to make ourselves dependent on cell phones and internet.
So what we spend some money on DVD’s sure.
I can also build wooden toys for my future kids.
No cable/sat, so what is left?
What , we are now suppose to work 10 hours a day (including travel ) and come home and stare at a wall.
We can’t eat out either cause that is wrong.
IE NO FUCKING ENTERTAINMENT AT ALL FOR ALL THAT FUCKING WORK.
STFU.
Say this to people that earn $500.000 a year
for this to work you have to take the money one would have spent and put it into a bank account, if not whats the point. No point cutting back and spending the money on something else. $75 a month on smokes? try $10 a day for some..X 365 days….what about booze….do we really need a holiday? it goes on and on…
Excellent advice, especially on the cell phone $75 a month for emergency use is ridiculous, get prepaid.
Learn to cook instead of eating out, Cookings an excellent skill to have.
Cable/Sat AND DVD’s? it should really be one or the other if you have time for both your not really enjoying either or you got too much free time.
10 minutes before this came into my inbox I was explaining to my 10 year old, the concept of interest earnings regarding his pocket money. Also, love the simple explaination about Consumer to Investor to Entrepreneur to Freedom lover. I was able to explain that getting to Entrepreneur doesnt mean expensive fast cars and talking yourself up. It really means helping more people and giving more, which is what really makes you wealthy. Excellent stuff Don. Thank you.
On investing (growing your money)…. there are a lot of opportunities out there. The best advice I can give is to seek knowledge, do your homework diligently about each of your investments, diversify, and (above all) do not listen to ONE PERSON.
Occasionaly Don is right about money and investing. But then again… so is Jim Cramer… and so is Doug Kass… and so is Peter Schiff… and so am I. We are all wrong sometimes though.
Limit your spending. Limit your losses. Enjoy your life.
Right on Don….call the spenders out…..bottled water…DUMB at any economic level!

yeah, of all those things I think spending on ringtones is probably the stupidest, but probably not the most expensve – all great points.
dead right Don – great vid!

All very true, but I don’t agree myself. I will go along with the more traditional view. But I certainly support your right to say it. Cool anyway.
Ha!Hey!Hah!. That’s interesting. That’s the fourth time I’ve foundsomething along those lines. though.
I’ve done all this. Now what about those bank “holidays” coming up?
mmmm delicious.
By the way does anyone know anything about BAC Profits?!?!?!??!?!

Hey, thanks…I’ve been hoping for something like that. Fantastic! That’s really helpful. Cheers!

Sorry…I meant comment on this yesterday. I am convinced that it is fair. Keep up the great work. I’ll be back soon.
think about cutting car or home insurance to the min. and about getting a more economical car and home. live close to work, school, and church.
Hello from Broome! I found that really interesting. Thanks for the information. I will be back to search for more updates next week.
