Yes, but there are thousands of religions, to have faith in things unknown. I have “faith” that is my car when I move the steering wheel, but it is on consistent evidence from previous driving based.
If you discover something by chance, you still can not call it a truth or a fact, not a single incident. (Most of the time). You develop a belief in a hypothesis and test it out. The Bible calls the faith of the evidence of things not seen. It is a legal metaphor, Faith can not be supported by logic or evidence, but it is in itself evidence of something not yet understood or known. For all of human history that they had faith in gravity, now we do not need faith for the gravity, it is a law.
I see what you say, and it makes sense. How about discoveries, you were not looking at all? If I do not know what will happen by instant coffee in the microwave and I suddenly go back in time. Some things are learned quite accidentally, is not it?
No, we do not believe in it are influenced by reality. But we are talking about a subject that the impact on us is not always so clear. A theory of gravity, you have to believe something about their impact on the general question before you have experimental confirmation. To look for the weight, you must at least believe that you see something, or could see anything. Truth’s effects are constant and consistent, but the truth is not always seen.
