There Are too Many Bureaucrats and They Are Paid too Much

America has too many bureaucrats and they are dramatically overpaid. This mini-documentary uses government data to show how federal, state, and local governments are in fiscal trouble in part because of excessive pay for a bloated civil service.
The Republican Poverty, Boldly bringing America Forward into the 19th century.
Bureaucracy=sheep gone wild.
Nice but….Too little, Too Late…..
@savethegun
This is not even logical. You’re trying to tie together 2 things that have absolutely no relationship. Did it come off a talk show? Sounds like Glenn Beck and his blackboard.
@studentpilotfrg Where’s your proof?
@RondaKG
You would do better to direct your wrath toward Corporate America and the way they have Congress in their back pockets, to put it politely. The real threat is the rising price of oil which affects the price of everything we buy, not just our gas ( I’ve never seen a pair of jeans walk into a store by themselves…). the real crime here is that while we suffer and most live paycheck to paycheck, the oil companies get rich far beyond reason- on our backs.
@zimbotiger
Yes, I’ve thought about that many times. I’m just old enough to remember President Eisenhower. ( I’m a few days shy of 60) We should have listened better. It’s not too late to do something about it though, but it will take good old ’60′s radicalism to get things to change. Any recycled hippies out there willing to give it a try?
@Meade556 Thank you! If you are on facebook you can help by posting this clip and warn people in your commentary that this is what we are up against.. Mabe it is time that we all become “Paul Reveres” and spread the message – it worked for the Egyptians.
@uncleezra1 Some of us are with you. Keep the country running. Never give up! We appreciate and love our Bureaucrats.
@MikeLovesPui How dare you! Unions, if you study EPI figures,decrease inequality, Federal Bureaucrats are hated by politicals who don’t want them to do any work as Federal employees tell it like it is, and power does not want to hear it. The Bureaucracy was put in place to make sure our food was safe, our water drinkable, our working places protected from the tyranny of the boss, and you attack it! You are un-American. Without a strong government there would be no country.
You cretins! How dare you! Federal wages over the period 1980-2010 have fallen. So what? Cut pay so we can give the rich another tax cut as if that has ever worked. Oh and by the way, the reason Federal employees don’t seem to do any work is that politicals don’t get out of the way and let them do the work. The Bureaucracy keeps us safe. The Bureaucracy should be better paid.

@uncleezra1 the military industrial complex has destroyed this country President Eisenhower warned the american people in his farewell address the military spending is the problem
@matt17na You do realize your “middle class” of state workers is born on the backs of the poor right? Teachers alone will consume 3 trillion dollars of taxpayer money in the next 10 years. You throw stones at the Koch brothers thinking them over paid but you never average all the business people that make little to nothing every year. Tax all the rich you can find but you’ll not put a dent in the 50 TRILLION of total federal and state spending in the next decade.
@matt17na
I hope you being facetious…
You want to know someone in the government who gets paid far too much for the little amount of work the do??? Congressmen- especially the Tea Party backed ones that are pushing this crap. They won’t do it because they are self serving, but I challenge them to turn back some of their benefits or salary is they are so determined that this is the answer.
Well, I am a civil service worker and I DO work. I am a training manager for an Air Force unit and I put in a 40 hour week, every week. but in actuality I cram 50-70 hours into that week. I and many ( the vast majority ) like me do this day in and day out so our soldiers, sailors and airmen can do their primary job, which is protecting our freedom.
unions are using the teachers, firefighters, and other public workers to push their evil agenda. They are destroying our economy as fast as the puppets who roll over for them.
Government workers are sucking us dry. They are parasites on the American economy and will be the death of our economy and way of life.

Right-on video. Added it to my faves! Thanks for posting it.
This is exactly right. As conservatives, we must cut pay, increase hours, slash benefits and decrease job security wherever possible. We mostly accomplished this goal in the private sector, now we must attack the public sector since it’s the last bastion of stable, well paying jobs. Any true conservative knows that we must continue to shrink the middle class so the more deserving people on top can succeed. We should not encourage mediocrity in this country, and those in the middle must suffer
@monkie9me
“People are paid by the productivity of their work.”
Productivity has risen much faster than wages in the US over the past couple of decades so your direct correlation doesn’t seem to hold. Based on productivity, private wages should be higher than they are now. Perhaps the downward pressure on wages is better explained by a virtual monopsony in the labour market. (no, I didn’t mis-spell that, I really mean “monopsony “).
teachers,police, board supervisors earn a shitload of wages. every one else earns a shitless wage.
