What are the shares of the federal reserve bank good for ?
Posted by admin in Finance Friday, 2 December 2011 08:21 2 Comments
There are share of the federal reserve banks not publicly traded held by private people. Those shares do not entitle them to any kind of profit, due to the nature of the federal reserve bank. What are those shares good for then ? Do they hold any kind of power, or is it just awesome to have shares of the federal reserve bank ?
Shucks so it is better if money is being backed up by something thats shiny instead of the fruits and labour of a modern society ?

Greg Rand, CEO of OwnAmerica hosts Rand on Real Estate on 770 WABC; he discusses the White House’s announcement and breaks it down. It sounds good, but it’s more important to watch what they DO in Washington more than what they say. Stay tuned. For all you business owners with merchant accounts, there is a very good news. The Federal Reserve Board has decided to cut down the fees from 44 cents to 21 cents. The fees that I am talking about are the ones that banks and credit card companies collect for each transaction.
While this is almost a 50% change in the fees, the banks were slightly relieved that the change wasn’t as much as 75%. Initially, Federal Reserve had laid out plans to cut the fee to 12 cents per transaction.
If you are a merchant, this should be a great sigh of relief since nowadays, a majority of payments are paid through credit/debit cards.
This fee cap is a direct result of an act called Dodd-Frank financial regulation act that was signed just few months ago in last July. Simply put, this law pushed Federal Reserve to investigate the amount of fees charged for debit card processing by the banks and card companies and whether they were reasonable or not.

What is the purpose or (more importantly) the benefit of the federal designation “Accredited Investor” ??

What is the purpose of such a designation and is it possible that it is simply a bottleneck for true “Free Markets” / “Open Economy” ?
