I see news about China’s over dependence on exports. The US recently said it needs to rely more on creating domestic demand in order to transform its economy. What does this domestic demand mean? How can it help China to transform from and export oriented economy?
Why should European Union recognize China as a market economy when China is the worst currency manipulator?

China has been demanding of the EU to recognize it as a market economy. The same was asked of Brazil and several other countries but none has relented. How does China expect the world to recognize it as a market economy while it keeps manipulating its currency? Not to say of the numerous entry barriers that it has erected for the foreign players in the Chinese market.

CHAN: We now have a report on the dire situation of Sichuan Province in China where an earthquake struck last week. A reporter, whose name we are omitting for her/his safety, who sat down with our NTD reporter and revealed some striking death toll numbers that have not been revealed by the mainstream media. STORY: According to the reporter a cement plant came crashing down about seven kilometers from the town of Dujiangyan in Beichan County. [Chinese reporter] said: Quote 1 DON’T TITLE BAR “The plant has more than 20000 workers. It seems only 11 have survived. We haven’t heard of any more survivors making it out.” Even more striking is the reporters claim of the death toll in this single county. “Beichuan County has 105000 people living there, but only four thousand people walked out of there… the rest of them are all buried in the ruins. Locals say there are seven places where no one survived from the earthquake, so no rescue teams headed there at all.” Another big problem are mudslides from mountains in the region. [Chinese reporter] said: Quote 2 “The whole mountain is sliding, it becomes all mud, all mud. You can just watch people sinking in the mud, but can do nothing about it.” Word of the Beichuan County situation was made public not by CCP media, but by Taiwanese reporters who happened to be in the region. [Chinese reporter] said: Quote 3 “The CCP tries to conceal and hide information. You can see on May 12th, Sichuan TV still broadcast ads.” We will continue to …
