Penny Hardaway look back on his NBA career HD
Posted by admin in Finance Wednesday, 20 April 2011 07:06 25 Comments
Hardaway’s style of play was rare in the early 1990s. Players of his height were encouraged to play closer to the basket and often were not ball handlers. He was a pass-first point guard who could score like a shooting guard. Hardaway was too big for most point guards to defend and too fast for shooting guards to defend.[16] Hardaway was also an underrated defender who finished in the top six in steals on three occasions. Hardaway’s versatility and size set him apart from many other players of his era. He was the only player during the 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons to average 20+ points 5+ assists and shoot above 50% on field goals. Early in his career Hardaway’s flashy style of play was the closest thing the NBA had seen to Magic Johnson since his retirement. After the departure of Shaquille O’Neal in 1996 Hardaway’s role changed to that of the primary scorer. Hardaway continued his role as a shooting guard in the early part of his stint with the Phoenix Suns. Later in his career injuries limited Hardaway’s style to that of a versatile, smart role player who was a steady influence on younger players.

Need advice on what to career to pursue with a finance degree?
Posted by admin in Finance Thursday, 7 April 2011 09:29 2 Comments
I am a recent graduate of a tier three school, with a degree in finance. I currently have no experience, so I am basically in the entry level status. Anyways, I would love to pursue an analyst position or possibly get involved with budgeting/forecasting. I guess you could say those are my goals. I still havent truly decided what I want to do. I have interviewed and thought about some possible jobs, I just dont know what is going to get me the experience I need. I dont want dead end experience.
Work in Retail Banking – I have purused personal banker positions, but most are telling me to start out as a teller!
Work in Mortgage Origination – this is with a bank that specializes in mortgages (Indymac Bank) Offered me a position, but its hourly.
Basically im trying to get a job thats not necessarily glamorous paying the big bucks, but instead allows me to develop good work ethic, with the possibility to learn and grown and mold myself into a essential player in society!

Allen Iverson, 5’11 barefoot, 160 pounds, one of the greatest scorers the NBA has ever seen. A full generation of kids all over the world have been inspired to play Basketball by watching Allen Iverson. He is one of the most popular players of all-time because of his flashy style of play, small size confidence, athleticism and killer instinct. And now, we don’t have the luxury to watch him play anymore.
