I know SO many that fall in this category. These people are among the few riding out this depression quite well. Some have multiple retirement checks coming in while they work other jobs. This is total socialism, and very unAmerican. Plus, the government could use that money if the ex-mil is capable of earning an income.

Are there tax benefits if I get a business lisense for selling things on online auctions?
Posted by admin in Finance Monday, 24 January 2011 10:11 2 Comments
I’m thinking about turning my online selling into a business, and I’m trying to get a feel for the tax-related pros and cons of making it official.
Here are 2 questions:
(1) I understand that I can write off business expenses on my tax returns. That includes computer equipment, trips overseas to purchase merchandise, etc. But I’ve never itemized my tax return before. Would I get more money back if I start a business, and then itemize my deductions rather than just taking the default deduction like I always do?
(2) If I make my online selling into an official business, will I have to pay extra business-related taxes?
Is an extension of unemployment benefits really going to help the economy?

With that logic, how about we triple the unemployment and imagine how much more the economy will be stimulated if that amount of unemployed will get a benefit extension? That would REALLY stimulate the economy right? Then, the people remaining that actually have jobs, let’s tax the heck out of them to pay for all the unemployment benefit extensions. That would work, right?
The rich didn’t get rich by sitting on money, they got rich by investing it and creating businesses. I guess you wouldn’t understand since you’ve probably never been rich. Sitting on money NEVER made anyone rich.
