The statement that opens this video, that more people are bitten and die from snakebite in the US than in Africa, is completely false. What bites has this Dr. seen? One in OH? He certainly doesn’t attend the snakebite conferences– so how knowledgeable is he on exotic snakebite? There are thousands of snakebite deaths throughout Africa, and only 0-12 here in the US– and most of those are from our native snakes, not people keeping cobras. A few cases does not an epidemic make.

I don’t think we should be afraid of them but rather keep a distance and maintain respect.
