album The final cut – a requiem for a post war dream (1983) Officialy an album by Pink Floyd, in fact a solo album by Roger Waters. To promote this album, a video (with 4 songs) of 18 minutes was released. “The gunner’s dream” is the first part of it. Officiellement un album de Pink Floyd, mais dans les faits c’est plus un album solo de Roger Waters. A la sortie de l’album, une video de 18 min (avec 4 chansons) avait été produite, “The gunner’s dream” en est la 1re partie.
@Metalitron12 It must be pretty flat by now.
Thank you so much for posting. The Final Cut is one of my favourite Pink Floyd albums, severely underrated except to us Floydians. I always listen to this on Armistice Day, so I can remember the supreme sacrifice made “by so few” so that we many can enjoy the freedoms we have today. The Gunner’s Dream is perhaps the most poignant song on the album and definitely one of my favourites (along with the album’s title track). We should all never forget, and hold on to the Dream…
ohhhh my god…..gut wrenching lyrics,i listen to floyd when i feel i,m losing it,always cures me lol.
In 2:05 Water’s voice becomes a saxophone. My god what a great piece of music!!!!
I’m in Sax Heaven for sure!!

@Polterguist
@Polterguist You know I agree what a powerful punch this album puts on ya! I love it and always will!!
Most underrated album in history; it’s Floyd’s 4th best album in my opinion. The lyrics are incredibly powerful.
One of the most beautiful and heart-wrenching songs ever—-the lyrics break my heart. I can remember the naval flotilla shown in the video returning to Portsmouth after the Falklands War. Great video, great song–thanks for posting. PEACE to all peacelovers!!
j adore
HOLD ON TOO THE DREAM!!!
This is one of my favorite pink floyd albums… Its shows roger water’s genius.. just before pros and con’s….
And guys Dave Gilmour is a genius on guitar.. Yes they split up…. But it should not bistract you from great music !
Roger is a musical genius but a lot of his stuff is cold and dark. I liked the last album Floyd did, it was brighter and more positive. Lost for Words was fantastic. I do love everything they did, with and without Roger.
niedoceniony album, który osobiście uwielbiam.
Great Sax
@RomanPhilosopher i just disagree with you. roger waters had to fight to make the wall and the final cut broke up the band. the 2 most important albums they ever did and david gilmore “wasn’t interested”. roger waters is a genius and david gilmore is a businessman. it still pisses me off. noone remembers the final cut because of that stupid infighting and petty shit. anyway, you have your opinion and its valid. i just thought roger waters got the short end.
the final cut was the greatest record pink floyd ever did!!!!
hmmmmm
@ChalkBoardBathrooms absolutely right thanks
@SONOR4 god bless you. x
classic floyd
