@findyourintelligence .. I believe my suggestion would do no harm. It would be much cheaper and easier to promote than kyoto and other such wasting of time. Creating a mid-ocean rainforest would be proactive and alleviate fears to many voters. Companies with high carbon imprints would gladly sponsor for PR reasons. These fields could also be used in emergencies for food/fuel.
This suggestion is very practical to Pro and Con advocates of Global Warming.
Proaction will not be laughed at.
@RichLOAguy why? we also do have fiat to do that. those countries will just laugh at us. no need to get rid of carbon dioxide, it helps the planet.
A barrel floating in the ocean will grow a seaweed farm. It would be easy to create rainforest sized algae farms mid ocean. The seaweed farms would photosynthesize, as well as the lifeforms themselves would be made of carbon.
Cheap. Proactive. Harmless.
Also mid ocean seaweed (algae) farms could be towed to countries in need for emergency food, fuel.
No downside.
Build seaweed farms from shore and tow them out to sea and anchor them. Polluting companies could sponsor the low costs.

why do you need a consensus of 2500 scientists. You dont need that to have a law of gravity…
AMAN to propeganaplanet!!! if humans are responsible for warming the planet…then how did the ice ages end when there were no evil factories and SUVs??? noone but scientists can prove or disprove global warming…but there are 31000 scientists that believe CO2 emissions HELP the planet, plants use CO2 to produce oxygen if noone took 2nd grade science btw….

I live in Wisconsin too, and agree…A little global warming would be nice. The last two summers have been so cool that it adversely affected my vegetable garden….Oh yeah, Al Gore sucks….
I would not have minded global warming. I live in Wisconsin. the truth about global warming is finally emerging(does not exist). By the way,the reason the artic ice cap is melting is due to a underwater volcanic ridge. warmer water means melting ice.

WRONG ! The warming trend we are in now started 20,000 years ago. just google ( or WIKI ) Sea level rise 20,000 years … The seas are still rising only SLOWER… yes SLOWER .

The real scientific consensis is that of a warming trend that began with the industrial revolution, CO2 levels have been on the rise for over 125 years, in this short period of time the levels have risen higher than they have been in about 600 thousand + years.
this is a FACT, they have been studying the CO2 in ice that was frozen up to 650 thousand years ago.

Are you aware that James Hansen was caught red-handed forging data to make these last years the “warmest”? No.
then you should strive to get some real info. John Christie and Roy Spencer, UAlabama at Huntsville, are the real guys who make the temperature charts. See also WHOI, SOHO -NOAA itself has been caught fudging with the numbers and ppl like you fall for it.
if you see a chart for the past 100 years the trend is of warming, not cooling. it goes up and down but the overall trend is that of warming and not cooling.
P.s. 2007 was hotter than 1998. there are dips here and there. however the overall trend is toward a warming trend.
Richard Somerville disagrees with you. CO2 is at the highest level in over 420,000 years. Ice cores from Vostok proven fact. Somerville was a lead author of the AR4 from the IPCC. He has sworn to never do it again. Why? The immense amount of work that was required took him away from researchb and teaching.

Chu does have that subtle flair for the obvious. I think he suggested that when its time to replace your roof, do it with white roofing. White cars ares easier to AC than black cars. That means fuel savings. Doh! I can only imagine owning a black car in Scandinavia.
