If I wanted to start making stock investments today, who would I go to?

I am a young student beginning graduate school and I have worked very hard over the past few years saving capital. I am very interested in the stock market but want to sit down with someone and find out what my options are. What should I do? Who should I talk to? Where should I go?
Thanks!

  1. i would go to no one. and i would stick your money in a high yield savings account or money market. get out of school with no debt and a job, then look to invest. i suggest vanguard.

  2. If you want to speak with someone, I highly recommend Edward Jones. They specialize in conservative investment strategies, and retirement savings.

If you want to study on your own and make your own decisions, I recommend E-Trade, Scottrade, or another discount broker, plus your local book store.
