I want to start a business at home. What are some businesses I can start from my home?

    Considering spending is down considerably and will likely continue to stay that for the foreseeable future I wouldn’t go into the avon/mary kay thing selling junky overpriced things people don’t need (as when things get rough those exepnditures are the first to go).

    Consider service of some kind. People value their time vs their salary so yard mowing/pool cleaning and just maintanence is easy,needed,and won’t set you back on startup too bad. You could do haircare/tanning/nails/whatever fairly quick if you are in suburbia and not bound by some uptight investors fascist covenants. Pet/child care too (just put the dogs and the brats in the same cages and call it a petting zoo experience).

    If you are not morally bound then there is the oldest profession women have used or taking franchise in a 1-900 thing lucious lips.

    About six years ago, my husband and I started a home based business in the telecommunication industry.
    Back then we had two children and wanted to stay at home with them instead of having to run off to work and leave them in daycare having someone else raise them per say. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not putting down daycare providers, they work hard. One option of a home based business too! I just didn’t want to have a family in a traditional way. I wanted to be able to be home with my children and be a part of their lives instead of just for dinner and bed time stories, ya know what I mean? Also the fact that I was on bed rest due to pregnancy problems and my husband was undergoing back to back surgeries, so we had to work from home.
    We had partnered up with a 15 (9 at the time) world wide company. They offered services that I knew would be easy to sale and help people save money on. Services such as local and long distance telephone services, Internet, digital, video phones, VOIP, Satellite TV and all the major cellular phone companies have partnered up with them as well. When I was thinking about this, how many people around the world has one or more of these services that they use every day? That’s a lot of people! The companies give us a percentage of people’s bills every single month.. A lot of money can be made in this industry.
