How will the economy look for our coming generations?

I keep reading stories every day about how the economy has changed the entire world, and more specifically, the way the newer generations live and spend money.
It’s obvious to me now, that getting a high paying job and a life alone won’t be easy. That was a dream for my middle school years.
But for people like me who are headed to college and beyond in 3 years or so, how does the outlook seem? Do you think we’ll be any better off than “Generation Y” right now?

  1. -THAT will depend on how Economically YOU decide to Live !! ;)

  2. Let me put it this way:

I’m glad I’m (getting) old. I’m lucky to have lived in the time in which I did. I would not trade places with your generation for a boatload of banana splits.

    I have no regrets.

  3. G’day Kseniya U,

    Thank you for your question.

This is based on you living in the US or western Europe.

It is not looking good as you will struggle to get work for some years to come. Economic growth will be slow for a decade. As well, you will have to pay the cost of the reckless budget deficits of years past and for a social security system that is slowly going insolvent. It will probably be the worst decade since the 1930s.
