How much would it cost to stock inventory in a new empty Liquor Store?

Me and 2 Partners are opening a liquor store and just want an idea on how much we may need to stock the store. The store is between 1500-2000 square feet. We want to sell Wine spirits and a little selection of beer.
30,000
Stop by a local liquor store that is about the same size as what you have in mind and take a rough count of how many bottles they have. You can do an estimate by counting the number of shelves and doing a real count of a few feet of one shelf. Your estimate will give you a starting point in your math.
Figure that you will pay around $20 per bottle to get you started. Of course if you want to carry high end stuff it will be much more. Methinks you have budgeted too low.
Wow, just to stock it (exluding permits, insurance, etc.) I’d have a good $100,000 in the bank at least, if not more. Start-up is the worst part, having to buy everything at once. After that you’ll get a feel for what’s moving and what isn’t.
