Falun Gong Crackdown Continues Before Olympics

WONG: Large numbers of Falun Gong practitioners are being arrested ahead of the Olympic Games. It’s happening all over the country… in Beijing, Shanghai, and Liaoning Province to name a few. STORY: The Falun Gong website Minghui.net says more than 100 Falun Gong practitioners have been arrested by the Chinese Communist Party over the last three months. [Chen Shizhong, Falun Gong Human Rights Working Group]: Quote 1.1 “Using the Olympic Games as an excuse, the CCP has conducted a massive search of Falun Gong practitioners. Our Falun Gong human rights organization is about to send an urgent letter of complaint to the United Nations Human Rights Council and to the Independent Commissioners for Human Rights.” Chen hopes the public will step up to stop the persecution. [Chen Shizhong, Falun Gong Human Rights Working Group]: Quote 1.2 “So we hope that our urgent appeal can draw attention from governments around the world to be concerned about this issue, as the CCP is persecuting the Chinese people, especially Falun Gong practitioners in mainland China.
