Fallout 3 Side Quests – Trouble on the Homefront

One walkthrough for this quest. This quest will be activated anytime after completing The Waters of Life quest (which is part of the main storyline) by picking up the Vault 101 Distress Signal on your radio. To pick up the Vault 101 Distress Signal simply wander near Vault 101 (Megaton is close enough). It is a message from Amata asking you to return to Vault 101 to help stop her father, the Overseer. If you killed the original Overseer while escaping from Vault 101, Allen Mack will be the new Overseer and you can still do this quest. Since your father’s and your escape from Vault 101, the Vault has been fractured into two major factions. The faction led by Amata, holed up in your father’s Clinic, wants to open the Vault and interact with the outside world. The other faction is led by the Overseer and he wants to keep the vault closed permanently, in accordance with its mission. You have a few options to finish this quest: 1. Kill the Overseer. Note: Interestingly enough, if you kill the Overseer but don’t gloat, Amata’s speech to the PC regarding the “tough decision” of asking them to leave the vault is strikingly similar to the speech given to the Vault Dweller of Fallout 1 at the end of that game. See quote below. 2. Kill Amata if she becomes hostile. 3. Kill all of the rebels. (not viable if Amata’s father is Overseer) 4. Leave without doing anything (this decision, if you make it, is permanent). 5. Persuade the Overseer to open the vault with your Speech skill (Only …
ok I beet the waters of life, but I still dont get the distress signal, when in Vault 101?? Confused

I killed all in the vault that I could. Can I do to do the mission, because if I tried, she got knocked out Amata kill the fuck.
Is there anyway to do this quest and still owe the tomb, for I know this quest and Amata to ask me to go for ever plz answr my question.

@ KevSmoothablethats because U Got ancorage before you got to waters of life. Get the Pitt and fill it. when your done, go to megaton and you should get the message.
When I talk this quest I to 2 him but he wanted to fight only so I went to Amata killed him and they would throw me to help, so I and everyone else killed, but escaped So I went into town and rivets Butch tries to kill him too. LMAO

On this mission, you can destroy the filter and the residents have evacuated, so that the vault is always open and you can go at any time you want (just annoying alarm: P
