(Part 4 of 4) This was on RTÉ Television, it was recorded when Elbow played St. James’ Church, Dingle, Co. Kerry in December 2005. They were promoting their album “Leaders of the free world” I have the rest of the show as well, have a look in my videos. I’m loving the new single “Grounds for divorce” and can’t wait for the new album (Seldom seen kid) :0)
So well performed that it sounds like a playback. I love this band!

stunning and tender. Big hearted men of the people. Nobody does it like Elbow.
It just shows the real talent of the group. They can play different tempo songs and they do them all well. One of my favorites.

I realize that this is a gorgeous song, but the most beautiful Elbow track? I think that honor goes to A Friend of Ours due to the personal nature of the song. This is still a heartbreakingly beautiful song though.
Great Expectations IS THE most beautiful Elbow track. It makes me tear up when I listen to it..
I only discovered Elbow through the acclaim Seldon Seen Kid got for them, but i’ve bought their other albums now and this is just truly beautiful. I agree with the comment said earlier. How can a song like this not have gained them status? Truly beautiful song in my opinion.
i know how to play it but i’m not that big on how to write it down cos its a plucking pattern and I’m not musically trained. I can write it as a tab for you.

Does listening to this make anyone else feel like half of their self is going completely numb, whilst the other half is screaming? Or is the fact that I feel my heart just broke severely affecting my brain?
I rate the singer so much. He’s so good live. I sang this for my mate’s music tech recording and it was so difficult to do it well. Props to Guy Garvey

Genesis and Elbow are great. I think Genesis use a lot more synthesizers though.
