Do you think that a corporate investor lives by the bottom line or considers larger issues?

Larger issues like morality, ethics, patriotism or the common good of all citizens. If not, why do you buy their products and invest in their stock? Are you possibly helping the people who rob you? Countrywide, ExxonMobil and the late Enron. Why in hell would you want to bail out such robber barrons? Tradition? Brand loyalty? I understand, I have done the same.

  1. He lives by the bottom line in most cases. This is why government is necessary to monitor those who put profits above the welfare of the citizens. You would think that there would be some moral or ethical guidance, but as was proven by the Ford Pinto case, business leaders are perfectly willing to sacrifice the lives of a few of their customers if fixing the problem is more expensive then defending the case and paying the settlements!
