Here’s the thing, i’ve always been bad at mathematics, but on the contrary, for some reason, i’ve always enjoyed statistics and done pretty good at exams in the past. Now i’m planning on starting a bachelor degree in accounting and finance, so what i desire to know is what kind of mathematics should i expect if i follow this path? how advanced does it get?
It’s pretty much basic maths in the accounting and finance degree im taking. addition, subtraction, percentages, averages etc. There are also variations to the degree, so if you don’t like the idea of the maths, then you could do a more business management based degree, which in my university had the same 1st year courses but meant less maths in the 2nd and 3rd year.
In simple terms Accounting and finance is nothing but + and – that u learn in 4 or 5 th standard. Occausanally u may find * and / and fiew % nothing else.
rest is all statics, that u are very good. Account is booked after the expense is done. and written in books as + or – ( they call Credit and Debit)
Finance if future predection of where to get money from and where to spend.
Only crux here is to under stand + and -. that is what to + or – and where.
Balance is projection of data in various formats of statics in cluding the balance sheet. I hope that is good
and in addition u get calculator do do all this.
You do not need to be a genius in math to pursue a degree in finance or accounting. I have a degree in finance with minor in economics. Make sure the field you choose is interesting to you. I liked finance because of the stock market and real estate. If you are interested in something, it will be much easier.
PS Accounting was easy but way too boring for me.
Tip: A degree will always help you to get a better job – a way to weed out those who do not have a degree. You can actually do anything with your life.
